Membership
Eligibility
Application for voting membership shall be open to any one. To be a member of Ajuong Sudanese Community, you must to be over 18 years of age. Fifty dollars ($50) membership fee is required. Each member is required to pay his/her membership within a time frame. The boards shall grant membership after a new member pays his/her membership or registration fee. People with permanent disabilities or sickness shall be allowed to register without the membership fee. All members are required to attend all the meetings and participate in community activities. Membership shall be renewed after one year; renewal fee shall be $15. Each member shall inform officers when she/he has an idea that can lead the organization to professionalism. Nonmembers/volunteers are not required to pay any fee.
Funds
Ajuong Sudanese Community funding shall be membership/registration fees, monthly contributions, donations from people of good will (i.e. individual, charities, other organizations and government agencies) and events for fundraising, which shall be organized.
Monthly Contribution
The amount required for monthly contribution shall be $10 each month, unless changed by a majority vote of the members in general assembly. Members are required to pay their monthly contribution on time. Nonmembers/volunteers shall not be required to pay monthly contribution.
Donations
Ajuong Sudanese Community shall be collecting donations from people of good will (i.e. individual, charities, other organizations and government agencies). The board shall elect two members, or nonmembers to send “Thank You” letter(s) to individuals, private and public organizations that offer donations to Ajuong Sudanese Community.
Rights of Members
Each member shall have a right to vote for a candidate of his/her choice. Candidates shall be elected by a majority vote of the members. Members have their rights to approve, or disapprove decision of the boards, officers, Ajuong state representatives and committees. Assembly shall have a right to any unsuitable management of fund and misconduct of executive members in the organization. A member has a right to know what he/she has contributed in a fiscal year. Members have their rights to amend the By-laws of the organization. They have rights to approve the election and appointment of the committees and their duties. Members have the power to dismiss an executive member before finishing his/her mandate and elect a new one according to the by-laws. They have power to approve and disapprove programs submitted by committees.
Resignation and Termination
Any member may resign by sending written notice to the secretary. A membership termination shall be done by a majority vote of the members.
